Top Washington DC lawyer returns to LAWorld member firm as Chairman

Scott Blake Harris, who helped found Washington DC firm and LAWorld member, Wiltshire & Grannis, in 1998, has returned to the firm and he will become Chairman.  The law firm has therefore assumed its original name, Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis LLP with immediate effect.

“I am thrilled to return to HWG,” Harris said. “It has only improved in my absence and I look forward to working with the extraordinary team here on behalf of the firm’s clients.  Mark Grannis, Managing Partner of HWG, said “Scott Harris has truly earned his reputation as one of the keener legal minds in Washington and one of the most influential lawyers in the telecom and energy bars.  We also know him as the guy who did more than anyone else to build our firm into what it is today.  Having him back is as satisfying personally as it is professionally.”

Mr. Harris is currently serving as the Co-Chair of the Federal Communication Commission’s Advisory

Committee on the 2015 World Radio Conference, and as a member of the Department of State’s Advisory Committee on Communications and International Policy.  He is also serving as a member of the Department of Energy’s Appliance Standards and Rulemaking Advisory Committee.

Harris, Wiltshire and Grannis is one of the top communications, information technology, international investment/national security, and litigation law firms in North America.  The firm’s clients include Fortune 500 companies, entrepreneurs, investors, trade associations, and non-profit organizations.  As former senior government officials, federal prosecutors, Congressional staff, and experienced litigators, HWG lawyers advise their clients on how decision makers think, how legal and political institutions work in the real world, and how those institutions can affect a transaction or business plan.
