Representatives from LAWorld client member firms across North and South America met for their Annual Meeting in New York, at the offices of our colleagues, Phillips Nizer LLP, in December 2010.

Senior lawyers from New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, North and South Carolinas, Mexico City and Miami gathered to discuss ways in which their firms could collaborate more in future.  They also discussed regional expansion and agreed to target the following cities: Washington, D.C., Houston/Dallas, Toronto, Boston, Atlanta, Bogota, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.

Informative and useful talks were provided by Dan Soffin (aviation litigation), Michael Galligan/Ira Olshin (international tax traps for unwary U.S. taxpayers) and Chryssa Valletta (international arbitrations).

“We had a very successful meeting and it is encouraging to see so much synergy in our group” commented the Americas Regional Chair, Guy Rasco from Miami “and we are all looking forward to our next get-together at the AGM in April in Beijing”.
